YDi G80 (WITH GYRO) ACTION CAM ON A 5MT (17FT) POLE, PLUS AN FY WG GIMBAL DOWN ON THE FARM.

If you know your way around action cameras, you will be fine, but if you are not knowledgeable about them, you may struggle to work things out. This is a shame as it is indeed a superb 4K camera at only £70. This YDi G80 camera has many excellent features, such as Gyroscope Anti-shake, WHICH WORKS ! A Diving Mode. A Night Mode. A Dash Cam Mode. It has Loop recording, Wide Dynamic Range (WDR), Motion Detection, Time-lapse, and Burst Photo. This allows you to capture beautiful picture or video in different scenes easily. Along with the provided durable waterproof case, this camera can go as deep underwater as 30 meters. (98.4252 feet). It can safely be used for all water sports like swimming, surfing, diving etc etc.. It also has REAL (not electronically configured videos), 4K – 24fps, 2.7k – 30fps, 1080P – 30 & also 60FPS, 720P – 60 plus 120fps video resolution and up to 16MP image resolution. The camera support maximum 170 wide-angle degree lens but you can choose to have this in camera, at 170 – 140 – or at a 120 Viewing Angle of view. The WIFI Connection Functions, are suitable for IOS, and Android phones and tablets. You can if you wish, control the camera via your phone to view pictures and videos in “Real Time” and also you can transfer files to your phone or share them on social media via the app “CANANY”. This camera also comes equipped with a 2.4GHz wrist mounted remote control, With this you can capture the picture or video via the remote control, but this is the 1st wireless remote I have had which allows you to turn the camera off as well. Brilliant. It comes with 2 x 1050 mAh rechargeable batteries. (USB Charged in camera and USB lead supplied). The camera has a built-in 30 Sec / 1 min / 5 min Screensaver to save the power. Each 1050 mAh battery can record up to 90 mins at 1080P (60 minutes in K4 which I always use) when the battery fully charged . I also have 2 more batteries and a mains / USB charger which cost me around £12 GBP. That WDR? On an overcast day with little sun and few shadows, there will be a fairly low dynamic range, i.e. there will be no areas of deep black and no extreme bright spots. On a sunny day, however, in a scene with distinct shadows, there will be a greater difference between the brightest and darkest areas, and this is what we call a wide dynamic range or WDR (also known as High Dynamic Range, or HDR).
How Wide Dynamic Range Works: Cameras have problems with underexposed and overexposed images because they can only accurately record the middle area of light between very dark and very bright. Cameras with WDR technology have advanced sensors that can produce a wider range of lighting, allowing them to record in a higher light depth. Along with recording a larger range of lighting more accurately, WDR-enhanced cameras have two other ways of balancing light for better images. Tone mapping lets the camera or software automatically brighten dark areas and darken light areas. Alternatively, the camera will capture several shots of the scene at different exposure levels. This creates overexposed and underexposed identical images, which the camera will combine. It takes the most balanced parts of both images, creating the recorded image you see. This method requires an extremely fast and light-sensitive sensor, however, and is usually only available on advanced professional cameras. Using the remote which is just like a watch, you must pair the camera and remote control before using it. Not hard to do and you only have to do it once and then the remote also turns the camera OFF but NOT ON, which would make sense if ever you did it by accident 🙂 The camera can be used as a straight dash cam, with WDR function and motion detection. After you insert the Micro SD card and insert a power cord into your car, it will be recorded automatically. (The power cord and memory card are not included). The unit takes a Micro SD Card (Also known as an FT card. The micro SD removable miniaturised Secure Digital flash memory cards were originally named T-Flash or TF, abbreviations of Trans Flash) of up to 64 GB. The camera makers and I, both advise a class 10 CARD of U3 level. 4K requires this or you may struggle when recording it.
